Tamara Bueno de la Torre shone as a soloist (Photo: SEZ).
Almost two hundred friends, donors and partners came to the SEZ benefit concert in the White Hall of the new castle on May 11th.
Under the virtuoso direction of the conductor Radoslaw Szulc gave us that Camerata Europeana in the most beautiful and special hall in Stuttgart an incomparable evening, which was under the banner of the BW-Burundi partnership.
The benefit concert began with Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber, which raised funds for and at the same time celebrated the BW-Burundi Partnership's project “Strengthening the economic skills of housewives and young mothers in Gitega, Ngozi, Rutana and Cibitoke”.
The soprano Tamara Bueno de la Torre was heard as a soloist. This was followed by Antonín Dvořák’s Notturno in E major and “Song my mother taught me”. After the break, Antonín Dvořák's Notturno in E major was on the program. For many years, the SEZ has been inviting people to its traditional benefit concert in autumn. Unfortunately, the concert could not take place in the past three years due to the corona pandemic, so we were particularly pleased to finally be able to revive the SEZ benefit concert. For this long-awaited gathering with excellent music in a unique location, we have now chosen the beautiful spring - a time of awakening, hope and joy that we were able to meet again and celebrate together. The proceeds from this year's concert evening will be used to support the project “Strengthening the economic skills of housewives and young mothers in Gitega, Ngozi, Rutana and Cibitoke” in the Baden-Württemberg partner country Burundi. The project is supported by the Association des Femmes Musulmanes du Burundi (AFEMUBU). Minister Peter Hauk took over the patronage of this year's SEZ benefit concert. We are still collecting donations for the charity project! The proceeds from donations benefit the project directly and without deducting administrative costs. The fundraising goal has not yet been reached - we are currently still collecting donations!
