The Fair Trade trade fair starts on April 5th
From April 5th to 8th, 2018, the Fair Trade trade fair shows that the consumption of fairly traded products has a positive influence on the lives of many people around the world.
This year, 180 exhibitors and 80 events are part of Fair Trade.
That is new: For the first time, the Future Fashion movement initiated by the SEZ is taking up a large area of fair trade. Around 30 exhibitors from the slow fashion sector and experts on the topic will provide information and show that sustainability and fashion awareness are not mutually exclusive. The Burundi Corner is also new. The trade fair stand presents Burundi as a partner country of Baden-Württemberg and illustrates the situation of women in the East African country. Three entrepreneurs from Burundi will be on site during the trade fair and will present their products.
Participatory activities: Anyone who brings T-shirts from home can redesign them at a DIY fashion workshop with students from Pforzheim University. In the IT workshop, those interested can learn how they can repair the broken cell phones and other technical devices they brought with them. Old clothes brought along will be exchanged for an 8 euro voucher during the trade fair, which can be redeemed at exhibitors in the Future Fashion area.
