At our first networking meeting we would like to address the serious consequences of climate change in Africa. After a lecture by Divine Umulisa on the effects of climate change, we would like to watch the documentary “Facing New Realities – How climate change is affecting the heart of Africa” together. This 23-minute film highlights the challenges the people of Burundi face due to climate change and highlights the importance of climate justice. Although the countries of the Global South are not among the main contributors to greenhouse gas emissions, it is a fact that they suffer greatly from the consequences of global warming.
