Background
The Baden-Württemberg Climate Protection Foundation is currently planning, together with its partner atmosfair, the development of two climate protection projects in Burundi, which are to be qualified as compensation projects through corresponding adjustments (country agreements) and registered in the Gold Standard. Burundi has been a partner country of Baden-Württemberg for 40 years and is severely affected by climate change.
The Climate Protection Foundation can raise around 50% of the financing from its own resources, and around 50% of the financing will be raised through donations from third parties. This is particularly necessary to enable the realization of a project type with a higher degree of innovation in Burundi.
Objective
To implement two types of projects, the Climate Protection Foundation is looking for companies and other institutions that would like to co-finance the projects through donations. For their donations, the companies receive corresponding certificates certified according to the Gold Standard. This gives the donors the unique opportunity to support the development of high-quality, transparent climate protection projects with established partners at an early stage.
Partners
The project is being implemented by atmosfair gGmbH, the best-rated provider of compensation projects in Germany for years. The initiator and co-financier is the Baden-Württemberg Climate Protection Foundation, a non-profit state institution and hub for the topic of CO2 compensation in the state.
