A cooperation with the ACT – Africa Centre for Transregional Research.
"Forgotten Voices" is a documentary that tells the haunting and painful stories of people displaced from their homes by the ongoing war in Sudan. The film provides an intensive insight into one of the most internationally forgotten conflicts of our time. Through personal interviews and real-life footage, it shows testimonies of the war, memories of the hopes of the 2019 revolution, and the daily challenges of flight and displacement, often more than once. It tells of the loss of home, of arriving in new places, and of trying to keep the connection to one's origins and culture alive. "Forgotten Voices" brings stories back to consciousness that often remain invisible and reminds us that the effects of war extend far beyond the battlefield.
Our guests are two human rights and peace activists from Bana Group for Peace and Development, a feminist network of human rights and peace activists from Sudan. The Bana Group has been a partner organization of AMICA since 2025. In their joint project in Cairo, AMICA and Bana support Sudanese women who were forced to leave Sudan and fled to Egypt.
