Feminist struggles for greater equality and participation have been part of all societies for many centuries - but the discourses are mostly influenced by “Western” feminism. The digital event series “Feminist Development Policy: Women’s and LGBTQI+ Rights Worldwide” examines gender equality from a global perspective, shows examples from countries in the Global South and presents elements of feminist development policy.
During war, all forms of discrimination that already exist in peacetime are exacerbated. This includes the gender-specific devaluation and disadvantage of women and girls. Not only does the humanitarian crisis caused by destruction and displacement in war hit women and girls harder. Sexual violence is also used specifically as a strategic means of warfare. Two speakers will report on the topic.Trigger warning: We would like to point out that the topics of violence, rape and abuse will be addressed during this event.
Speakers:
Marthe Wandou, Founder, Action Locale pour un Développement Participatif et Autogéré (ALDEPA)
Yvonne Sartor, medica mondiale
Moderation: Dr. Friederike Beier
