What contribution can feminist development policy make to empowering women* worldwide and migrants in Germany? Many women* are forced to leave their home regions for a variety of reasons and build a new life under extremely difficult conditions. Women* from countries in the Global South often experience multiple forms of discrimination and a lack of respect and dignity.
This reveals colonial continuities that should be addressed and addressed through development policy education.
After a reading of excerpts from the book: “Barefoot in Germany” by author Divine Gashugi Umulisa (Tete Loeper), the psychosocial counseling expert Charlotte Njikoufon will highlight the challenges women* from the Global South face in Germany with regard to gender equality.
