Coal, Class, Climate Crisis – An Introduction to the Connections Between Classism and the Climate Crisis

Who actually has how much power in the climate crisis – and who pays the price? In this workshop, we will examine the role of classism: that is, discrimination related to money, education, or social background. We will discuss how climate-damaging behavior is linked to wealth, who is particularly affected by the climate crisis and climate policy, and what exclusions exist within the climate movement. We will also address our own experiences, critical perspectives, and the question of how climate justice can be shaped in a class-conscious and solidarity-based manner.
