Colonial past and climate justice

The climate crisis is no accident—it is the result of colonial exploitation. To achieve the SDGs, we must embrace indigenous wisdom. With the Green Belt Movement, Wangari Maathai demonstrated how traditional practices offer sustainable solutions. Climate justice requires a shift in thinking: away from extractive structures and toward respectful, community-oriented approaches.

Practical workshop as part of the One World Promoter Programme, organized by Sylvia Holzhäuer-Ruprecht, regional promoter for Karlsruhe, Baden-Baden, Calw, Enzkreis, Freudenstadt, Ortenaukreis, Pforzheim, and Rastatt

Speaker: Historian Dr. Rahab Njeri
