A lecture on lithium mining in Bolivia and its consequences for people and nature.
Lithium is found in batteries – from a few grams in smartphones to up to 40 kg in electric cars. That's an enormous amount! This raw material is essential for the energy transition, but its mining in the "lithium triangle" (Argentina, Bolivia, Chile) has far-reaching consequences. What social and ecological impacts does this have on indigenous communities in Bolivia? We want to discuss this together.
