The extraction and distribution of resources triggers significant social and political conflicts in many Latin American countries. Europe's hunger for resources leads to raw materials being mined under inhumane conditions, sometimes resulting in significant environmental damage.

We will discuss who the actors of fair and human rights-compliant resource extraction can be and learn about concepts such as “Environmental Peacebuilding” (EnvPB), which contribute to conflict transformation.
