A large skills gap and unfilled training positions pose major challenges for the German labor market and are also making themselves felt in the skilled trades:
Workers and trainees are desperately needed! This demand can no longer be met, making it clear: Germany, a country of immigration, is urgently dependent on migration to cope with demographic and structural economic change. This is countered by current mixed experiences in the area of displacement and migration: While politics and society seem characterized by isolation and rejection, many positive and forward-looking experiences are being made in the economy and the world of work. These are often pilot projects, are still isolated, and receive little attention – although many refugees and immigrants would like to contribute their professional and professional qualifications and experience to society and the labor market.
The Future Conference therefore wants to work together with the skilled trades and organisations from the migrant and civil society sectors, from the church, Diakonie and Caritas and politics
· present successful projects from the craft and business sectors, as well as initiatives and offers from social and church contexts
· Clarify the framework
· contribute to awareness and networking
Bringing stakeholders together
and thereby open up potential and new perspectives.
