SEZ managing director Philipp Keil in conversation with fashion designer Sarah Kürten and Anna Deckert from the Future Fashion tour.
“We have to start with sustainability with what people need,” says SEZ managing director Philipp Keil. “In addition to food, this is clothing.”
As an interview partner with the SWR team of the “natural!” editorial team, he reports on the SEZ’s experiences with the topic of sustainable fashion.
Sustainable fashion, green fashion, slow fashion – the trend has many names. At SEZ, the Baden-Württemberg Development Cooperation Foundation, it is called Future Fashion. The SEZ initiated and coordinates the new movement for sustainable textiles. “We see that there is great interest in consuming clothing differently,” says Keil, summarizing his experience so far. “And we see that small labels are gradually emerging that make sustainable fashion, especially here in Stuttgart.”
The SWR team visited some of these labels, such as “Revived” in Stuttgart’s Bohnenviertel and [eyd] in the east of Stuttgart. The filming team also made a stop at the State Fashion School. The team was accompanied by Anna Deckert from the Baden-Württemberg youth initiative, which also regularly does the Future Fashion tour in Stuttgart.
Broadcast date: June 12, 2018, 18:15 p.m. on SWR television.
