EMPOWERING WOMEN FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT BY PROJECTING WOMEN ACHIEVERS

The project strengthens the role of women and girls in Indian society by telling Indian women their successful life stories through YouTube videos on social media. This means they can be a role model and inspiration to other people. The stories show that “women empowerment” has many facets - especially in the form of personal autonomy, but also in psychological, cultural, social, organizational and political aspects. Furthermore, the project tries to break down the prevailing image of women in India by encouraging women in particular in financial difficulties to reflect and empower themselves in terms of social relationships, physical freedoms, roles in the family and in society.
