FIRST AID FOR WOMEN RETURNING IN IS CAPTIVITY

The project is primarily aimed at internally displaced Yazidi girls and young women who have had to cope with severe trauma following the IS attack on their ancestral territories in the summer of 2014, as well as subsequent abduction, enslavement, and sexual abuse. The project aims to provide physical and psychological stabilization for 6 of these young women within six months. They can stay full-time at the 'Jinda' center for survivors, where they can take vocational courses, participate in community events, or access support and counseling services. In parallel, as part of an ongoing, region-wide campaign against violence, Wadi staff will visit schools in refugee camps to inform students, teachers, and parents about nonviolent education and strategies for nonviolent conflict resolution, and to offer individual counseling.
