ESTABLISHMENT FOR WOMEN THROUGH A KHANKE CARPET MANUFACTORY, CONTINUED

The construction of the Khanke Carpet Factory near the Khanke camp has a positive impact on the region in many ways.
The goals - including economic livelihood security for refugees, psychosocial support, employment, safe space, capacity development for local NGOs - have been and continue to be met. Now, on the one hand, IOM wants to put this refuge on a more stable economic footing.

The plan is to improve and expand the existing product line through partnerships with experts in the textile and craft industries. A strategic partnership with a social enterprise is also planned as a measure to be able to market the products better.

On the other hand, it is planned to continue the activities that have proven to be successful, such as the capacity building of two other NGOs. The focus here is on social cohesion in society and the psychosocial well-being of the Yazidis and the host society.
