Social, political and ecological crises determine social discourse worldwide and demand new answers to the question of how we want to live in the future. At the same time, there is hardly any space to actively engage with the future, new life and social concepts and alternative courses of action. With a cross-disciplinary program of films, readings, workshops and panel discussions, the “Freiburger Filmforum” wants to focus on pressing questions about the future and discuss them with an international audience. The upcoming festival edition will take place as a hybrid event simultaneously in Freiburg, Nairobi and Ahmedabad. A call for films on the topic of “Global Futurisms” expands the film program to include the perspectives of young international filmmakers.
