We are starting a new mangrove reforestation project on the island of Leyte in the Philippines. The goal is to produce and plant thousands of mangrove seedlings along the coast. These forests are crucial for the recovery of fish populations, which ensures a sustainable livelihood for local fishermen. In addition, the mangroves strengthen coastal protection and promote biodiversity in the region. Another important aspect of the project is the involvement of marginalized groups. We are focusing on raising awareness and training in the reforestation of this important coastal protection measure. A group will be formed that will earn a direct income through the reforestation and will be trained to use byproducts of the mangroves
to use sustainably.
