MEDIA FOR FOOD SECURITY IN BURUNDI

The main goal of the project is to raise public awareness of the issue of food security through the media. The skills of 85 female journalists will be strengthened to create innovative media products on the topic of food security. The products are created in media in 5 provinces. The five best products will be awarded a “Media & Food Security” award. Three national debates on food security issues will be synergistically broadcast by 19 radio stations, each participatory debate with two listening centers. Experts, government officials and civil society representatives take part in the debates. Every debate is introduced by an investigative report. A magazine about exemplary women farmers is published.
