Since Peru is considered a middle-income country with a relatively stable economic situation, we are hardly aware of the food crisis that prevails there. According to the FAO, 51,7% of the population suffers from food insecurity. The main causes are the economic crisis, the consequences of the Covid 19 pandemic and extreme weather events as a result of climate change. We are drawing attention to this problem and showing that some of the causes of the food crisis can also be found in global economic relations and our consumer behavior. We are developing options for action in Germany. To this end, we are planning an exhibition with accompanying events, an event on the consequences of glacier melt, an online event and several publications.
