We are committed to an orphanage in the city of Limbe. The orphanage currently cares for 24 children and young people.
The conditions in which the children live are precarious and detrimental to their health. There are only 5 bunk beds (for 10 children). 2 of the bunk beds are broken; the mattresses are disastrously bad. The foam crumbles every day. Many children simply sleep on the floor. There are no mosquito nets on the windows; this greatly increases the transmission of diseases.
We want to buy new (bunk) beds, slatted frames and mattresses for the children and fit mosquito nets on the windows. These improvements are intended to reduce the transmission of diseases. The purchase of beds is intended to enable the children to lead a dignified, healthier life.
