The project will train the Suruí Aikewara community in the Sororó indigenous territory in meliponiculture (stingless bee breeding). The workshop will be led by Arukápê Suruí, president of the indigenous health organization of Pará, and assisted by William Bercê, a Unesp ecologist with experience in native bee breeding since 2014. The workshop will address sustainable management techniques and indigenous ancestral knowledge about the medicinal properties of melipone honey, merging traditional and modern knowledge. The aim is to promote income generation, cultural preservation, environmental education and the valorization of indigenous knowledge, and to strengthen community autonomy.
