SOLAR ENERGY POWERED DRIVE CONCEPT AS A BASIS FOR THE TRAINING OF YOUNG GAMBIANS

The innovative project idea is to develop a drive concept from old and used vehicle parts that is sustainably powered by solar energy. Components available in Gambia, such as alternators, are converted into electric motors and supplemented with control electronics and solar cells. With specialists from Gambia, these components are manufactured into a drive module for boats and tricycles. To help people help themselves, investments are being made in a workshop in which these sustainable drive modules are manufactured. The feasibility has already been proven with the participation of the two universities, Esslingen University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Auerbach, and the Stuttgart Media University, Prof. Gruel. The next step is the presentation in Gambia.
