The project builds on the LM-A-22-073 project in Ecuador and aims to open up new production and income opportunities for indigenous peoples and around 70 families in the northeastern Amazon region of Ecuador through ecological forestry, permaculture, environmental and financial education, as well as marketing strategies and local market analyses, while at the same time strengthening rainforest protection and local food sovereignty. The measures include intensive capacity building for the conservation, use and regeneration of biodiversity, financial management, and processing, marketing and creation of local markets for organic products as a sustainable/regenerative alternative to deforestation and the sale of indigenous land and forest to palm oil companies.
