A craft that has been practiced by women for generations is in danger of disappearing. In Libya, which has been marked by civil war and revolution for 10 years, the ceasefire since October 2020 has represented a glimmer of hope. We want to give this hope a direction with training in carpet weaving: low-income women and women affected by violence are empowered to build and maintain their own business Psycho-social counseling in a protected room. Because many women are traumatized by (sexualized) violence. To ensure a self-determined future for Libyan women, we promote both their economic independence and their mental health. The women themselves contribute to preserving the national cultural heritage of traditional Keleem production.
