The project "Improving the nutritional supply of children accompanying their mothers to prison" aims to reduce hunger and malnutrition among children and their mothers in the MPIMBA Central Prison in Bujumbura. The project aims to grow rice. The project is income-generating because the production is shared equally. Part of it is intended to benefit 42 children and 47 mothers in this prison to combat the acute malnutrition suffered by these beneficiaries. Another part is sold and used to purchase basic foodstuffs, which in turn are reinvested in the project to ensure its sustainability.
