REEINTERGATION OF ELDERLY WOMEN AFTER CATARACT SURGERY (REWCO) INTO WORKING LIFE

The reintegration into working life of older women who have regained their vision through cataract surgery after years of blindness is of existential importance for those affected and their families. From 2018 to 2020, around 1000 cataract operations were financed by donations from Germany. However, those operated on often have to lead a miserable life unless they make their own contribution to the family income. Rehabilitation after the operation is therefore urgently needed. to lead a dignified life until the end of life. The proposed project aims to support a selection of 50 of the most vulnerable older women by creating income generation opportunities.
