terre des hommes is a development policy children's aid organization and supports around 350 projects in 29 countries around the world. tdh supports people in freeing themselves from oppression and economic hardship and in being able to implement their ideas of a humane existence. tdh working groups are active on a voluntary basis in around 150 German cities and are committed to development policy at a local level, organize events and collect donations for project work.
The “Casa de Paz” in Medellín, Colombia takes care of former street children and preventatively takes care of children in risk situations in order to prevent them from switching to the streets. The children are given the opportunity to attend school and their families are supported in a variety of ways by our employees. The work is financed through donations and sponsorships from Germany - the project is presented and awareness-raised through slide shows and information in schools.
As a regional group, support the work of PBI, make PBI known in Freiburg, find volunteers for foreign missions and find members/domestic activists. PBI is currently supporting threatened human rights activists in Colombia, Mexico and Indonesia. We organize lectures in Freiburg by returnees from the projects and, depending on the possibilities, we also get involved at the project and federal level (lobbying, training, etc.)

The organization implements innovative development projects in crisis and conflict areas to empower people, especially indigenous peoples, to fulfill their rights and live self-determinedly in dignity and peace. Our projects combine the social, ecological and economic dimensions of sustainability with the protection of tropical forests and biodiversity.
