The plan is to build an education center in Ananivi Kodzi in Agou Prefecture in the southwest of the country. Around 1.700 people currently live in the village in simple, thatched wooden and mud huts. Around a third of the residents are children and young people under the age of 16. There is currently no option for the children. to meet outside of school and play, study or do homework together after dark (18 p.m.) or on days off. The planned education center consists of a library and a work and social room that will be illuminated with a solar system. In the future, the children will find a place to play and learn here. A solar system also provides lighting and electrification of the workplaces.
Water-associated infectious diseases are a major health problem for Togo's rural population. The cause is the often poor hygienic conditions in the villages and the lack of access to clean drinking water. The village of Nyogbo Vamatekpo is also affected. The approximately 700 people draw their daily water from standing water in the area or have to travel long distances to the nearest well. As part of the project, a deep well is to be built, which will ensure access to clean drinking water close to home. This also powers three new handwashing stations in the village. A water committee is founded and trained, and a prevention campaign is carried out in order to have a lasting positive impact on the health of the population.
