Caritas international: relief organization for disaster reliefCaritas international provides emergency aid and reconstruction for the victims of wars, natural disasters and other crises. Our sustainable disaster relief and preparedness contribute to promoting justice and reconciliation. Caritas international provides assistance in such a way that people's dignity is preserved, self-help and self-organization are supported in the long term and the vulnerability of those in need to the effects of crises is reduced. We work on a subsidiary basis, which means that the work of local partners has priority. Caritas international: Network of solidarityCaritas international helps people to help themselves and takes sides with the victims of social exclusion and violence. Caritas international is committed to anchoring Caritas in church and society. That's why we provide help with the development, professional qualification and autonomy of partners and especially Caritas organizations. Promoting concepts and programs for specialist social work and disaster relief – these are the offers that Caritas brings into the collaboration internationally. In doing so, we combine our experiences with the special expertise of the German Caritas Association (DCV), including its structures. We support the international Caritas network in order to use limited resources effectively and to further develop Caritas as a globally active and collective movement.
