Our great vision is to set in motion social change processes to ensure a peaceful future in Burundi. Through playful interaction, friendly contact develops between children of different ethnic backgrounds, allowing them to examine and, in the best case, revise prejudices and stereotypes that are often unconsciously conveyed by parents or society. By uniting different ethnic groups, children from poor backgrounds in particular are less susceptible to political agitation. At the same time, we want to offer them an alternative (politically and value-neutral) living space, "the football field". There they have the opportunity to dream, to live out their childlike existence and to have fun together. They have the opportunity to forget their often very stressful (working) everyday life and are part of a community (training, games, side events). Another goal is to work with the children to improve their immediate living environment. Through additional events (e.g. sewer cleaning, pitch renovation, workshops, etc.), which are integrated into the tournament system through a points system, the children are motivated to get involved because it improves their ranking in the tournament. At the same time, they receive recognition for their additional achievements and can be proud of themselves.
