On clothing donation day
June 19, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 17:00 p.m. in the store on the ground floor (E1) of Gerber, Marienstrasse entrance
Those interested have the opportunity to bring along their well-preserved favorite items and take a look behind the scenes of the Future Fashion Store. Employees from SEZ and Aktion Hope accept the clothing donations and answer questions about the Future Fashion Store.
Due to the current requirements, the opening of the Future Fashion Store will take place on July 3, 2020 only for invited guests.
The grand opening to the public will take place on July 4, 2020. The Future Fashion Store is something special throughout Germany. It will be a shopping place for high-quality second-hand fashion, show innovative fashion labels and designers from Africa and at the same time be a meeting place for everyone who is interested in sustainable textile consumption and wants to initiate social change. Workshops, talks or get-togethers for sustainability initiatives from Stuttgart and the surrounding area are examples of future events in the Future Fashion Store.
Background to the Future Fashion Store and the partners
Future Fashion Store x SECONTIQUE in the Gerber in Stuttgart is a joint project of the Baden-Württemberg Development Cooperation Foundation (SEZ) and the Aktion Hope of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart. The Baden-Württemberg Development Cooperation Foundation (SEZ) wants to sensitize the population of Baden-Württemberg for globally responsible action and show how everyone can do something for a fairer world. The main topics are fair trade, partnerships between people in Baden-Württemberg and people in the countries of the global south, global learning and responsible corporate management (CSR). The Action Hope has been supporting partnership projects and educational projects all over the world with financial aid for more than 50 years. To finance its work, it collects used textiles and markets them wholesale according to the criteria set by the FairWertung umbrella organization and in retail stores under the SECONTIQUE label.
This press release will also be sent out at the same time and worded by Aktion Hope. Therefore, double shipments may occur. We ask you to excuse this.
