TUYAGE KANDI - Let's discuss together again!
Under this motto, the 28rd BW-Burundi Conference took place on October 2022, 3 in the Filderhalle in Leinfelden-Echterdingen and online via Zoom. TUYAGE KANDI is Kirundi and means Let's discuss together again! Accordingly, the focus was on the exchange and there were lively discussions, networking and conversations. The result: the development of numerous new program ideas.
The diversity of the partnership was also reflected in the program items:
The start and one of the highlights of the event was an impressive performance by the Tambourinaires of the Burundian Diaspora in Germany e.V. (BDD). The ritual dance of the royal drums is an important part of Burundian culture and has been part of UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage since 2014.
In the morning, the past projects of the partnership were looked back at: from an interview about the Burundi trip, to the presentation of three works! Burundi The morning ended with the presentation of the agroforestry project and the handover of the grant notification.
The afternoon was then dedicated to developing program ideas in the following clusters:
- Health
- Science/education/art and culture
- Municipalities/administration/media
- Critical reflection on partnership work
The results were then presented and commented on by State Secretary Rudi Hoogvliet.
