The partnership between Baden-Württemberg and Northern Iraq has existed since 2015. The cooperation between the regions was renewed during political delegation visits by the state in 2019 and 2023 to continue supporting projects that improve the living conditions in Northern Iraq for refugees and the local population. The SEZ is committed to further strengthening the partnership between Baden-Württemberg and Northern Iraq and ensuring long-term financial support for projects in the region.
Since 2017, the SEZ has received five grants from the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg and has thus funded 46 projects in the provinces of Dohuk and Sinjar. These projects include educational initiatives, health care and infrastructure measures. Here you will find an overview of the funded projects; the overview is continually being updated.
Are you interested in funding opportunities and are you a non-profit organization based in Germany? We would be happy to send you further information by email.
