Expert paper of the German Council for Development Cooperation

Living global responsibility in Baden-Württemberg

Development cooperation today means taking global responsibility in international partnerships and acting socially, ecologically and fairly here in Baden-Württemberg. This is the only way we don't live at the expense of others. And this is the only way Baden-Württemberg can fulfill its obligations to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. This is particularly true when it comes to climate protection.

There are three central, fundamental recommendations for the coming years:

  • The pillars of engagement promotion work!, World:Citizens in demand!, One World Promoter Program must be expanded in accordance with the 2030 Agenda.
  • A central and appropriately equipped political coordination in the State Ministry. Only in this way can development policy become a credible cross-sectional task.
  • Implementation of Africa's core recommendations in view! This is where global responsibility in international relations becomes concrete.
