Do you have contacts with or interest in (East) Africa and are your start-up or company active in the areas of energy and mobility or digitalization? Then sharpen your focus on (East) Africa at the Digital Hub Africa and identify new opportunities and possibilities for cooperation. Here you can share experiences, discuss questions and gain new knowledge!
The Digital Hub Africa format consisted of two modules. All events took place online. On September 30, 2021, a stakeholder dialogue was held to kick things off, focusing on information dissemination and networking for start-ups and companies in the Karlsruhe Technology Region that are already cooperating with African countries or want to do so in the future. This event focused on existing networks in Africa and discussed the needs for a Digital Hub Africa in the Karlsruhe Technology Region. The speaker James Shikwati, Kenyan economist and founder of the Interregional Business Network (IREN), highlighted the opportunities and challenges of African markets and discussed possible points of contact and future markets.
Two further events were held on November 9th and 10th (16 p.m. to 18 p.m. each) under the title "Dialogue or Coop? Choose what you need!", which specifically focused on networking and cooperation between start-ups and companies from East African countries and the Karlsruhe Technology Region. Each of these events was dedicated to one of the two main areas of "energy and mobility" and "digitalization". As an open format, the events gave the participating start-ups and companies space to talk to each other and to explore project ideas and cooperation opportunities.
