La Baden-Wurttemberg Development Cooperation Foundation (SEZ) recruit for his liaison office in Bujumbura at full time a Head of office

About the SEZ:

The SEZ is an independent and non-profit foundation through development cooperation. Created by the parliament of Baden-Wurttemberg in 1991, it promises a responsible approach to the world economy and a partnership. Since 1980, the partnership between Baden-Wurttemberg and Burundi has diversified with objectives the strengthening of partnership, the networking of people and organisations from two regions as well as the strengthening of the commitment of civil society. Since June 2023, the SEZ will open a liaison office in Bujumbura although accreditation is currently underway. For this new liaison office, the SEZ is recruiting collaborators.

Your missions:

  • You supervise the management of the liaison office, and covers all operational aspects such as administration, logistics, finances, personnel management as well as partnership work and projects.
  • You are there contact person for inquiries The partnership means that the network operation of organisations from Baden-Wurttemberg and Burundi, the accompaniment and support of the clusters.
  • Looking ensure external communication partnership with the public relations and event sector. You are also the representative of the SEZ in Burundi.
  • You bring support and accompaniment on mission trips to Burundi and Germany.
  • You don't have impulses towards intercultural cooperation and critical analysis you partnership.
  • You are interface between the liaison office and the seat of the SEZ in Stuttgart.

Your profile:

  • You have completed a university degree related to development policy or an equivalent professional training and you have significant professional experience in the management and management of teams.
  • You are well aware of the procedures of an NGO (international) and you master the management of international subsidies.
  • You work in a methodical, analytical and mechanical manner.
  • You are passionate about team work. You have solid communication skills and are used to finding practical solutions.
  • You have professional experience in a multicultural environment. you have a great sensitivity to cultural diversity and are prepared to critically analyse relations with the "global North"
  • You master the computer tool, the management of digital resources as well as office software (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • You have a master's degree in French and English. The Kirundi and the Germans seemed to be appreciated.

Your missions:

  • You are responsible for coordinating the SEZ projects and projects from the financing line works! Burundi and you are in contact with internal and external auditors.
  • You assure the follow-up and project management in accordance with the administrative directives of the SEZ and with adequate project control.
  • Looking advise the organizations and initiatives relating to the financing and implementation of the projects. You also network with partners from Burundi and the Baden-Wurttemberg organisations and vice versa.
  • Looking organising network training and meetings for partners in Burundi.
  • You get the external communication for projects and ensure the visibility of the projects and their impact in Burundi.
  • You are interface between the projects in Burundi and the SEZ headquarters in Stuttgart.

Your profile:

  • You have completed a university degree related to development policy or an equivalent professional training and you have significant professional experience in project management.
  • The functioning of an administrative office is yours. You bring your appui to the project team.
  • You work in a methodical, meticulous and conscious manner.
  • You have experience in the administrative management and financing of projects financed by public funds.
  • The administrative procedures in Burundi are familiar to you.
  • You have professional experience in a multicultural environment. You have a great sensitivity to cultural diversity and are prepared to critically analyse relations with the "global North"
  • You master the computer tool, the management of digital resources as well as office software (especially Word and Excel).
  • You have a master's degree in Kirundi, French and English. The skills in German would be appreciated.

  • Looking support the office manager in the exercise of his supervisory functions within the framework of the administration of the programme.
  • You assure the verification of national legislation and of its relevance to the SEZ.
  • You apply to the the contract management the office and the personnel.
  • You conceive and put in place, in a proactive manner, the internal process for administration and finance. You ensure the management of material resources.
  • You treat the general requests in Burundi and welcomes contacts, meetings and the reception of our partners at the office
  • You assist Current activities of the SEZ in Burundi, including event management, mission support and public relations.
  • You are interface between the Bujumbura liaison office and the SEZ headquarters in Stuttgart for questions relating to finance and administration.

Your profile:

  • You hold a higher diploma in Finance and Administration or an equivalent professional training
  • The functioning of an administrative office is yours. You bring your own techniques to the project team.
  • You work in a methodical, meticulous and conscious manner.
  • The administrative procedures in Burundi are familiar to you.
  • You have professional experience in a multicultural environment.
  • You master the computer tool, the management of digital resources as well as office software (especially Excel).
  • You have a master's degree in French and English. The German would be appreciated.

  • You are part of the event team and work closely with the project coordinators of the different SEZ brands on an event-related basis.
  • You are responsible for network work, especially with the funded projects, and for distribution and database maintenance.

  • You're looking for one Long-term part-time employment as a working student as part of your studies (requirement).
